RTR Summary Report now available

The latest RTR summary report has been published, outlining the project’s recent progress and ongoing technical work.

Within the RTR Conference, HighScape contributed to the joint session on “Power Electronics for Electric Vehicles”, where discussions focused on system-level challenges and technology pathways for next-generation EV components. Particular attention was given to how different projects align in advancing GaN and SiC technologies and their combined potential.

The exchange also highlighted considerations beyond pure performance, such as the current gap between research and real-world deployment, and the practical limits of recycling approaches compared to design-for-integration strategies. In addition, variability in EV usage, driven by seasonality and driving behaviour, was identified as an important factor not yet fully reflected in existing analyses.

HighScape Research Showcased at SAE WCX in Detroit

One of our project partners, Marius Heydrich from Technische Universität Ilmenau contributed to the SAE WCX World Congress Experience in Detroit last week, one of the leading international events for vehicle engineering and mobility innovation. During the conference, two technical presentations were delivered in a special session on EV chassis design and control applications, chaired by Dr. Valentin Ivanov (Smart Vehicle Systems – Working Group).

Building on extensive real-world testing – including more than 10,000 kilometers of experimental driving – the presented research explored the impact of adaptive and innovative electric vehicle motion and energy management control strategies. The results demonstrated clear benefits in key areas such as drivability, energy efficiency, and driving comfort, highlighting the relevance of advanced control approaches for next-generation electric vehicles.

The work presented at SAE WCX is strongly linked to the HighScape objectives, showcasing how cutting-edge research can be translated into practical, measurable outcomes. The studies presented illustrate how publicly funded research can deliver tangible value through rigorous development, experimental validation, and data-driven evaluation.

Participation in events such as SAE WCX strengthens HighScape’s engagement with the international research and industrial community and supports the broader dissemination and exploitation of project results.

A huge thank you to Marius for always pushing the boundaries and disseminate the HighScape project results.
